Four Butte Central Seniors Win Mariah's Challenge Scholarships

Four Butte Central High School seniors received Mariah's Challenge scholarships for maintaining drug- and alcohol-free pledges throughout high school. Will McGree, Ryan Peoples, Molly Peck and Caden Tippett earned the awards through the program honoring Mariah McCarthy.

Peck also received two additional scholarships. The Jacob Wheeler Foundation awarded her $2,000, while the statewide Youth Serve Montana Scholarship gave her $1,500. Cadence Pawlik and Sophia Gelling earned Jacob Wheeler Scholarships of $1,000 and $1,500, respectively.

Tippett received a scholarship from the Friendly Sons and Daughters of St. Patrick at the organization's annual banquet at Front Street Station.

The Youth Serve Montana Scholarship recognizes high school seniors who complete 100 or more hours of volunteer service and attend a Montana college or university. The program awards 90 seniors across the state $1,500 each.
