Schoharie (Schoharie County): Virginia M. “Ginny” Bevins 90, of Main Street Schoharie, NY passed away Monday, April 27th at the Ellis Hospital after a long and giving life.Ginny was born June 7, 1935

Schoharie (Schoharie County): Virginia M. “Ginny” Bevins 90, of Main Street Schoharie, NY passed away Monday, April 27th at the Ellis Hospital after a long and giving life.Ginny was born June 7, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Francis and Regina (Healy) Coschina. She began her education at Catholic School in Brooklyn and later graduated from Schoharie High School. She devoted her life to her family and community and also worked at Schoharie BOCES. She was a charter member of Scho-Wright Ambulance Service as an EMT and in various positions where she tirelessly served for over 50 years and was recognized by NYS recently. Ginny was a devout Catholic and was a communicant and religious education teacher at the former St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Schoharie until its closing and then at Our Lady of Fatima in Delanson. She also loved her animals and raising basset hounds.Survivors include: her husband, Joseph Bevins whom she married April 7, 1956, her children; Kimberly (Mark) Compton of Manchester, Missouri, Shawn (Ann) Bevins of Esperance, Marcy (Dale) Molzan of Waterford, Connecticut, and Gregory (late Rose) Bevins of Punta Gorda, Florida, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren (and another soon to come) and her sister Jean Riedell. Ginny was predeceased by her siblings; her twin Nancy Schmidt, Therese Wright, Elsie Gruenberg and Marie Prince.A period of visitation will be held from 1-3PM on Tuesday, May 5th at the Langan Funeral Home followed by a prayer service. Burial will be private. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
