Schoharie (Schoharie County): Charlotte F. Marks 93, of the Birches, formerly of Fair Street, Schoharie, NY, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026 under the loving care of family, aides, nurses, and hospice.Charlotte was born August 4, 1932 in Roxbury, NY, a daughter of Peter and Gertrude (Short) Leming. She graduated from Margaretville High School and later, attended the Albany Business College. She worked for Protective Loan Corp. in Albany for a time, prior to her marriage to Glen on September 18, 1954. Charlotte and Glen settled in Schoharie where she became active in her community as a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s R.C. Church serving as Eucharistic Minister and Reader, among other duties. She later attended Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church in Delanson after the closing of St. Joseph’s. Charlotte was a member of Schoharie Colonial Heritage where she was known for her famous Chocolate Chip Cake. She had an artisticflair that was present in many facets of her life. Charlotte loved collecting antiques, drawing portraits, decorating her home, and tending to her flower gardens. Most importantly, Charlotte enjoyed her social life that included a vast array of lifelong friendships.Her husband Glen, passed away October 2, 2006. Survivors include: her sons; Kevin Marks of Schoharie, Stephen (Terry) Marks of Albany and Brian (Kimberly) Marks of Spring Hill. Florida, her grandchildren; Elliot Marks, Kelsey Marks, Karen Marks, Austin Marks, Christopher Stiles, Jason Stiles, and Michelle Stiles and several great grandchildren. Charlotte was predeceased by her sister, Carol Petruskevich and her niece, Joanne.Calling hours will be held from 10AM to 12Noon on Friday, May 29th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street Schoharie followed by a prayer service with burial at the Old Stone Fort Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charlotte to Scho-Wright Ambulance Service, PO Box 325, Schoharie, NY 12157.Charlotte’s family extends their gratitude to all the visiting nurses, aide’s and Helios Care for helping Charlotte enjoy her day’s while still living independently.
