Mohave College Instructor Wins Service Award

Kevin Kanorr, a respiratory care instructor at Mohave College, received the 2026 Ellen Licari Service to Students Award. Two students nominated him for the honor, citing his commitment to their success in the classroom and beyond.
"He consistently goes above and beyond, acting not only as an instructor but also as a counselor and mediator," the students wrote. "He frequently sacrifices his personal and family time to ensure we fully grasp the course content."
Kanorr joined Mohave College less than a year ago. He earned an associate degree in respiratory therapy from American Career College and has worked in the field for eight years, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Student success is at the center of why I became an educator," Kanorr said. "I want students to know that they matter, that their goals are possible, and that they have someone in their corner who believes in them."
The college established the annual award in 2011 to honor Ellen Licari, a former adviser who dedicated her career to helping students succeed. Jay Wange, a mathematics faculty member, is the other recipient this year.
Kanorr will be honored during employee convocation in the fall.
