Wake County $2.28B Budget Proposal for FY 2027

Wake County Manager David Ellis presented a $2.28 billion budget proposal to the Board of Commissioners on May 4, 2026. The budget covers the fiscal year from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

Ellis told commissioners that the N.C. General Assembly underfunds education, public safety, and human services, forcing Wake County to cover the gaps in these areas.
