Brownsville Emergency Resources Fair | Safety Demo
The City of Brownsville brought together police, firefighters, and community organizations at the Brownsville Event Center to teach residents about emergency preparedness and city services.
Attendees explored interactive booths, watched live safety demonstrations, and examined emergency response vehicles. The fair highlighted the 546-HELP hotline, a non-emergency resource that connects residents with city departments.
Ralia Karavasilis, a first-time attendee, said she learned about the 546-HELP hotline for the first time. "I didn't know about the 546-HELP hotline that the city has," she said.
Liliana Chavez praised the breadth of information available. "There's so much great information to get," she said, citing displays on recycling, parks, and safety.
Marisela Almeida, attending for the third time, said the fair helped residents understand city operations. "This gives us a more in-depth description of how they work, how they help us individuals, and how we can make progress in our lives," she said.
