Parents Question Dismissal in Oklahoma Sexual Assault Case

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Parents of an Oklahoma teenager say they received incomplete information regarding the resolution of a sexual assault case involving their daughter's former boyfriend. The accused, who the teenager alleged sexually assaulted and strangled her, entered into a deferred prosecution agreement.

The agreement allows the former boyfriend to avoid jail time and does not require him to admit guilt in the case.

The parents stated they believe the outcome is too lenient. They informed reporters they had expected a different resolution for the case.
