Passport Acceptance Fair Coming to DeLand Courthouse

DELAND, Fla. – The Volusia County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office is hosting a Passport Acceptance Fair on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the DeLand Courthouse from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are required and can be scheduled online at Clerk.org. To help expedite the process, Clerk Roth recommends applicants download the application (DS-11) from the U.S. Department of State’s website at travel.state.gov and complete it prior to their appointment. Applicants must bring the following to their appointment: Completed application (DS-11) Original or certified copy of their birth certificate or previous passport A photocopy of their driver’s license or government-issued ID (front and back) Check, money order or credit card for payment Passport photo (can be purchased on-site for $15) For more information, call 386-736-5915.

"Volusia County will hold a workshop for organizations interested in applying for ECHO (Environmental, Cultural, Historical, and Outdoor Recreation) program grants at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand. ECHO grants help fund projects that acquire, protect and improve Volusia County’s environmental, cultural, historical and outdoor recreational resources. The workshop is designed to help potential applicants understand the eligibility requirements, application procedures and project evaluation criteria. ECHO grant applications will be accepted from June 3 through July 31. The ECHO program is funded by a voter-approved property tax. "NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ORDINANCE 18-24 ORDINANCE 19-24 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Commission of the City of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, will hold public hearings to consider the enactment of Ordinance 18-24, relating to the FY2024/2025 budget, and Ordinance 19-24, relating to the zoning code, as follows: Ordinance 18-24: A budget ordinance relating to the FY2024/2025 budget. Ordinance 19-24: An ordinance amending the zoning code. The public hearings will be held at the City Commission Meeting at the New Smyrna Beach City Hall, 210 Sams Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: Ordinance 18-24: First Reading – August 13, 2024 Second Reading – August 27, 2024 Ordinance 19-24: First Reading – August 13, 2024 Second Reading – August 27, 2024 All interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
