Residents in Baker, Inland Nassau, Bradford, Coastal Duval, Trout River, Western Clay, South Central Duval, and Western Duval counties should seek shelter indoors immediately due to strong thunderstorms.

A Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Jacksonville FL at 8:03 PM EDT on October 3, 2026, indicates that radar is tracking strong thunderstorms moving east at 20 mph. These storms are expected to bring wind gusts of around 40 mph and minor flooding due to heavy rainfall.

Impacted areas include Jacksonville International Airport, Middleburg, Maxville, Cisco Gardens, Oakleaf Plantation, Bryceville, Cecil Field, Oceanway, Normandy, and Baldwin. The statement is effective until 8:30 PM UTC (4:30 PM EDT).

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and dislodge unsecured objects. Torrential rainfall may lead to localized flooding. If you encounter flooded roadways, do not attempt to drive through them.
