MCSO Case Manager Wanda Alejandre Wins December Employee Award
Bradenton, FL — Wanda Alejandre, a Resource Assistance Case Manager with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, earned Employee of the Month for December 2025 for her work helping homeless individuals and those struggling with substance abuse.
Alejandre assisted a man she had previously helped through the MCSO Resource Assistance Program Unit. When RAP Deputy Daniel Ensign contacted her about him, she developed a plan to move him off the streets. In 2024, the man accepted services and entered the HOT bed program, later transitioning to Veterans Village.
After the man relapsed and returned to homelessness, Alejandre provided clothing and necessities, then arranged rapid screening for an assisted living facility. He moved in within 48 hours. While there, another homeless man attempted to remove him, falsely claiming to be his caretaker. Authorities discovered the imposter had been collecting the man's disability checks for months.
Alejandre spent hours with the Social Security Administration resolving his financial accounts following his move. Her persistence through complex bureaucratic obstacles earned her the recognition.
