Manatee Memorial Hospital Gets 'A' Safety Grade
Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton earned an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit that rates hospitals on patient safety.
The Leapfrog Group assigns letter grades to general hospitals based on their performance preventing medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections. Hospitals receive updated ratings twice yearly.
Judy Young, chief nursing officer at Manatee Memorial, said the grade reflects the hospital's commitment to safe patient care. "Patient safety is at the core of everything we do," Young said.
Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, said the "A" grade signals the hospital's dedication to protecting patients from preventable harm.
