Carole L. Douglas, a longtime Bradenton business owner and healthcare professional, died Oct. 4, 2026, at age 86. She is remembered for her adventurous spirit and dedication to her family and community.

Carole L. Douglas, a longtime Bradenton and Anna Maria Island resident, died Oct. 4, 2026. She was 86. Her three children were by her side.
Douglas moved to Anna Maria Island in 1980 with her late husband, Bruce R. Douglas. Together, they owned and operated Ivan’s Boat Rental, Fast Eddie’s Gift Shop and the Bradenton Beach Market. The businesses contributed to the local economy for many years along the Cortez Road corridor.
After her entrepreneurial career, Douglas worked at Manatee Memorial Hospital for 27 years, credentialing doctors. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Manatee Orchid Society. Douglas also traveled extensively and cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called her "Florida Nana."
The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. A private service will be held. Arrangements are by Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 43rd Street Chapel, Bradenton.
