Three Forks Gets $30K Grant to Update Growth Policy
Three Forks secured a $30,000 Community Planning Grant from the Montana Department of Commerce to update its Growth Policy, last revised in 2007.
The city will spend 12 to 18 months rewriting the planning document that guides land use, development, and community character. City officials said the update will align the policy with current conditions in the Gallatin Valley region, where Three Forks has experienced steady growth.
The current policy identifies goals including encouraging quality development, providing varied housing types, protecting natural resources, and improving infrastructure.
Three Forks will solicit public input throughout the update process. Residents interested in participating can contact the City of Three Forks for details on upcoming opportunities.
The city sits at the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin rivers, about 30 miles northwest of Bozeman.
