Patricia Chapman, Boonville Foster Parent and Cracker Barrel Worker, Dies at 73

Patricia "Trish" Chapman, a Boonville resident who opened her home to foster children for decades and worked more than 30 years at Cracker Barrel, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at her home. She was 73.

Many of her foster children remained in contact with her into adulthood. Colleagues and customers at Cracker Barrel remembered her kindness and friendly manner.

Chapman's husband, John Robert Chapman, preceded her in death, as did her parents, Shird Thomas and Christine Ward Rutherford.

She leaves her sister Glennis; daughters Christie and Carol; sons Tommy and Robbie; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, with another expected.

Visitation runs Friday, May 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bradley's Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1005 E. Main St., and continues Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service. A funeral service follows at noon Saturday. Pastor Gary Meredith, Pastor John Stone, and Melvin Kuntzman will officiate. Chapman will be buried at Maple Grove Cemetery.
