West Virginia Announces Opening of Application Period for FY2024 State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The State of West Virginia, in coordination with the West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD) and the West Virginia Cyber Grant Opportunities (WVCyGO) Committee, announces that the application period for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) will officially open on Monday, September 21, 2026.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The State of West Virginia, in coordination with the West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD) and the West Virginia Cyber Grant Opportunities (WVCyGO) Committee, announces that the application period for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) will officially open on Monday, September 21, 2026. The SLCGP is a crucial funding initiative designed to help state, local, and territorial governments address cybersecurity risks and cybersecurity threats to information systems. As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, this grant program provides essential resources to empower local entities to bolster their cyber defenses, protect critical infrastructure, and secure sensitive public data. Eligible local government entities and qualifying organizations across West Virginia are strongly encouraged to apply for funding to support their vital cybersecurity improvements and initiatives. "Protecting West Virginia's digital infrastructure is just as important as protecting our physical infrastructure," said Dr. Matthew Blackwood, Director of WVEMD. "We highly encourage our local government partners to take advantage of the FY 2024 SLCGP funding to fortify their networks and ensure the resilience of the vital services they provide to our citizens."
