Myrna Margarita Mogell, 94, Dies in Delray Beach

Myrna Margarita Mogell, known as Malka, a long-time Delray Beach resident, died Aug. 29, 2026. She was 94.

Born June 21, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to Sam and Sadie Lankin, Mrs. Mogell lived a life filled with joy, family and hospitality.

Mrs. Mogell married Earl Mogell in 1951. They shared 68 years of marriage, which included world travel, until his death in 2019.

Known for her vibrant personality and keen sense of humor, Mrs. Mogell was a formidable mahjong player. She enjoyed sunbathing by the pool and visiting local beaches.

Her culinary talents were celebrated, particularly her ability to host holiday gatherings. Friends and family often praised her matzo ball soup and egg salad. She instinctively ensured those around her felt well-fed and comfortable.

Mrs. Mogell also loved animals, caring for many dogs throughout her life and sharing stories about them. She brought comfort and cheer to those around her.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth and Annette Mogell, and Lezlie Mogell; grandchildren Kelsey Mogell and Katie Caine; and great-grandchildren, known affectionately as “Gigi.” She also leaves her sisters, Marilyn Goldberg and Adrienne Levy.

Her warmth, hospitality and enduring legacy of love will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
