FAU Accounting Students Daniela Gomez, Alexandra Boza, Ashley McSwain, and Hunter Worman Awarded $2,000 South Florida PICPA Scholarships

Four Florida Atlantic University (FAU) accounting students received scholarships from the South Florida Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). The awards recognize their academic achievements and commitment to the accounting profession.

Daniela Gomez, a junior, received a $2,000 scholarship. Seniors Alexandra Boza, Ashley McSwain, and Hunter Worman each also received $2,000 scholarships. These funds support their ongoing studies at FAU.

To qualify for the FICPA scholarships, students must be accounting majors at a South Florida university. They must have completed at least 30 semester hours of college credit and maintain a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. The FICPA also considers involvement in extracurricular activities and a demonstrated commitment to the accounting profession during the selection process.

Robert R. Cornell, Ph.D., director of the School of Accounting within FAU’s College of Business, praised the students. Dr. Cornell stated, “We are incredibly proud of Daniela, Alexandra, Ashley and Hunter for their outstanding achievements and dedication to their studies. These scholarships will undoubtedly empower them to continue their pursuit of excellence in accounting and make meaningful contributions to the field.”

These scholarships provide financial assistance to promising local talent, helping to cultivate future accounting professionals in the Boca Raton area. The recognition highlights the quality of education and student dedication within FAU's accounting program.
