Donna Klein Jewish Academy Launches Medical Studies Program

Donna Klein Jewish Academy offers high school students a new Medical Studies Program, providing opportunities to explore the medical field. The program, affiliated with Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and West Boca Medical Center, aims to give students hands-on experience and exposure to medicine and science.

Students in the program will follow a science-based curriculum and gain practical knowledge by working alongside medical professionals at West Boca Medical Center. This clinical track includes opportunities for internships and direct involvement in healthcare settings.

Through the affiliation with FAU's College of Medicine, students in the Medical Studies Program and the Pre-Med Club will have access to exclusive learning experiences. These may include faculty and medical student visits, lectures on medical ethics, tours of research laboratories, meetings with admissions officers, and time in a clinical simulation laboratory.

The academy also supports students pursuing independent research projects in medicine and science, with guidance from faculty mentors. School administration and faculty will assist students in finding suitable research opportunities and internships.
