Residents on Northwest 70th Street in Boca Raton can now safely use their tap water. A precautionary boil water notice, issued Sept. 27 for addresses between 110 and 130 NW 70th Street, was lifted Sept. 30 after water quality tests confirmed the water is safe. The notice aimed to ensure the integrity of water service. Residents were advised to boil water for at least one minute, chill it, or use an alternative source for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth. Bathing, showering, and household cleaning were acceptable uses, provided open wounds were not exposed to the water.

A separate precautionary boil water notice remains in effect for properties on East Key Palm Road (300-336) and 2700 Date Palm Road. The city issued this notice Sept. 29. The city has not provided a rescission date, stating the notice will remain in effect until the problem is corrected and bacteriological surveys confirm the water is safe.

Residents affected by precautionary boil water notices are typically notified via door hangers. The city advises residents to follow door hanger instructions if their address is missing from online lists. For more information, residents can contact Utility Services at 561-338-7339.
