This type of license would only be recognized in Santa Rosa County for permitting and construction. Other counties or jurisdictions may recognize this license, but you would have to inquire with those offices. Without a sponsor you are unable to test or apply to the State for this type of licensure.

To begin the process, you are required to pass two examinations, one for your trade and one for financial knowledge called Business and Law. The cost of sponsorship is $50.00 per test. To proceed, please submit the online Testing Sponsorship Application. When you visit the site to apply online, you will need to first create a free account for My Government Online. Sponsorship Application Requirements: - A valid driver's license or government issued ID - Payment info - you can use the payment authorization form or send a check We will establish your account with our testing partner, ProV, once we've received the required information. This site also has bulletins available that outline the reference materials allowed in the testing center for the exam you wish to take. Please note that Santa Rosa County does not issue competency cards for all exams listed. The minimum score required on both tests to advance to the next phase of licensure is 75%. As a testing candidate, you can take the tests as many times as necessary to obtain the scores needed. The testing agency, however, will charge a fee for each test taken. All testing is now computer based. There are options to test from either a personal location or local college available. That information can be found on the testing vouchers sent to you by email once your registration has been processed by our office. Should you register with a different county for testing you must complete the licensing process with that county before applying with Santa Rosa County. Once you've passed your tests you will proceed on to the vetting process with the State licensing division. If you are applying for an electrical trade, your licensing division is the DBPR Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board (ECLB). If you are applying for any of the other trades, your licensing division is the DBPR Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB).
