Each January, hundreds of thousands of people converge on Washington, D.C., to participate in the annual March for Life. Since 1973 — the tragic year the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion nationwide — advocates for the unborn have gathered in the nation’s capital to peacefully protest this unjust law and call for the legal protection of all human life, from conception to natural death.
As Catholics, and as Knights of Columbus, we stand firmly in defense of every human being’s right to life. The Order has been a leading supporter of the pro-life movement since the earliest days of the struggle to overturn Roe. We have worked tirelessly to promote a culture of life through prayer, advocacy and charitable support for organizations that provide resources and care to expectant mothers and their children, both during and after pregnancy.
I encourage every Knight to participate in the March for Life and similar events in their own states and communities. I also urge you to redouble your efforts in supporting organizations that provide material and spiritual assistance to mothers and families in need. Together, we can build a society that values and protects every human life.
