ANCS Elementary Names New Co-Principals for 2026-2027

Nicole and Veleta will lead ANCS Elementary starting in the 2026-2027 school year, replacing principal Lara, who moves to a different role within the school system.

Lara departs after the school year ends June 20 at 11:30 a.m. with no after-school program available. "Stepping away from being the principal of the elementary campus is hard," she wrote to families. "It brings me peace knowing that Nicole and Veleta will be taking the helm and continue to make ANCS a great place to learn and grow."

Nine staff members leave ANCS at year's end: Zoe Iatridis, Heather Tomlinson, Tawanda Morgan, Maya Ferguson, Emily Conners, Kim Moran, Toni Sulmers, Martha Kessenich and Kelly Dennis. Kessenich and Dennis are retiring. The school will honor departing staff during morning meeting on June 20.

Lost and found items in the cafeteria will be donated at the end of June 19. Open House for the 2026-2027 school year is scheduled for August 3, with the first day of school on August 4.

The school reminded families that drop-off on Pavillion Street creates congestion and safety hazards. Use the designated drop-off location at the front of the school.

Kindergarten through fourth grade students will receive Summer Reading Bingo challenge sheets with suggested books. Students who complete and return sheets next school year receive prizes.
