WASHINGTON – The U.S. State Department announced a new visa restriction policy on July 16, 2026. The policy targets individuals associated with groups described by the department as using violence for political purposes. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's press statement outlined the policy's focus on individuals who have supported or incited acts of terrorism, supported violent criminal activity, participated in economic sabotage, financed, recruited, or provided logistical support for violent or criminal actions.
