Wind Advisory: Secure Loose Objects on Kuskokwim Delta Coast
A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Kuskokwim Delta Coast and Nunivak Island until 7 PM AKDT today, with gusts up to 55 mph expected, potentially causing unsecured objects to blow around and leading to power outages. Secure loose objects and use caution when traveling.
Residents of the Kuskokwim Delta Coast and Nunivak Island are advised to secure loose objects due to a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service Anchorage AK.
Southeasterly winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected until 7:00 PM AKDT today, October 8. The strongest winds are anticipated between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM this afternoon. Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects and could lead to power outages.
Winds will gradually diminish through the evening hours. While the advisory ends tonight, winds are expected to strengthen again early Friday morning for communities near Kuskokwim Bay, though at a weaker peak of approximately 35 mph.
The National Weather Service urges caution when traveling during this period.
