 click here to view the MATERIALS MANAGEMENT PLANNING PAGEMaterials Management Plan:Charlevoix County has submitted, per Part 115, Solid Waste Management, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of 1994, its Notice of Intent to move forward with the creation and implementation of a single-county Materials Management Plan.  Materials Management Planning Committee:Our Materials Management Planning Committee has been appointed by the Board of Commissioners.  They will begin meeting monthly in March, thoughtfully completing the process necessary to develop a county-wide Materials Management Plan.  Members are representative of a wide range of state mandated backgrounds or skillsets, ranging from solid waste companies to elected officials and businesses. Creation of the MMP will be an extensive undertaking which will result in an in-depth plan that leads county residents and businesses alike, down the environmentally best paths to disposal.  Research, data-compilation, benchmarks and more will all be gathered, reviewed and systematically analyzed to ensure all aspect of plan implementation have been considered and included.  Once complete, the plan will be fully available to the public.
