Welcoming Cynthia Sanger! UCW’s new Settled Music Director The UCW Music Search Committee is delighted to announce the hiring of our new Settled Music Director, Cynthia Sanger. Some of you may even know Cynthia, who is a Newton local. Cynthia impressed both the committee and the choir with her musical skills and with the energy and passion with which she directed our choir during her audition. We hope all will welcome Cynthia enthusiastically when she joins us this fall! UCW Music Search Committee,James Cooke and Diane Tillotson, co-chairs, Liz Caronna, Glenn Cunningham, John Weisz, and Pastor Megan Active as a freelance performer, Cynthia Sanger has presented recitals as a solo artist and collaborative pianist throughout New England and in her native Midwest. She regularly collaborates with choirs and especially enjoys working with singers. Ms. Sanger’s repertoire ranges from Mompou, Persichetti, and Poulenc, to Martinu, Chopin, and Rota. Drawn to music that’s rich with imagery and dance, she also performs piano arrangements of orchestral works. Cynthia completed her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University where she studied both music and speech/language pathology. Her Master’s degree is in piano performance from the Longy School of Music. She is excited to embark on this new adventure with the Union Church in Waban.
