Community Alert: Solicitor Permits & Regulations Important Notice from the Burr Ridge Police Department Dear Residents, Following the recent hailstorm in our area, the Police Department has seen an increase in applications for door-to-door solicitation permits, particularly from contractors offering roofing, siding, and related repair services. We want to remind residents that all solicitors operating within the Village are required to obtain a valid permit and must comply with all applicable solicitation regulations as outlined in the Burr Ridge Village ordinance, Chapter 56. Permit Verification: Permitted solicitors should be carrying identification and documentation issued by the Village at all times. (See attached example of a Village of Burr Ridge Solicitor Permit). Safety Recommendations: Ask to see a solicitor’s permit before engaging in any discussion or transaction. Verify the legitimacy of any contractor before agreeing to services. Avoid making immediate decisions under pressure. Report suspicious activity or unpermitted solicitation to the Police Department. Please note: Residents have the right to decline any solicitation. “No Soliciting” signage must be respected by all permitted solicitors. If you have any questions, concerns, or wish to report an issue, please contact the Police Department. Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping our community safe. Sincerely, Chief Loftus
