Matthew Turner Elementary Wins 9th Straight Attendance Award

Matthew Turner Elementary School earned the Best Attendance Award for April 2026, posting a 96.13% average daily attendance rate. The Dolphins have maintained 96% or higher attendance for nine consecutive months, the longest streak in Benicia Unified School District.

District officials credited students, staff, and families for the achievement. Turner Elementary will display the Best Attendance Trophy through May.

Benicia Middle School received the Most Improved Attendance Award, increasing its average daily attendance by 0.51% between March and April.

BUSD recognizes two schools each month under its attendance campaign: one for the highest rate and one for the most improvement. The program aims to encourage regular attendance across all campuses.
