Recycling bins are no longer available at the West Mead Township building for items including newspapers, standard office paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum and standard metals cans, glass bottles and certain plastics. Most metals and various computer and electronic items can be taken to Meadville Metal located on Mead Avenue in Meadville, PA 16335. For any questions contact the Township Office at 814-336-1271 or by calling the Crawford County Solid Waste Authority at 814-333-7366 or at www.countyrecycling.com. "The annual City of Meadville Clean-Up Day is Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 8am - 12pm at the City's Public Works Garage, 1340 South Cottage St. The garage is accessible from Clark Rd., where it intersects with US Route 322 south of Channellock. Signs will be posted advising drivers where to go. Public Works employees will be on hand to assist with directing traffic and unloading vehicles.Each vehicle load is $10.00, and proof of residency is required.Accepted Items: Construction materials (bricks, concrete blocks, shingles, dried paint cans, etc.) Mattresses Batteries of all types Yard waste & organic materials (keep separate from other debris) Not Accepted Items: Electronics (TVs, phones, computers, monitors, etc.) Fluorescent light bulbs Liquids including paint and household chemicals Tires Junk vehicles Household trash Clothing Appliances with freon Thermostats containing mercury "
