Community Garden

"With the help of community partners such as the Fitness and Nutrition in Schools program, the Marion County Health Department, the Active Marion Project, the Feed the Need Garden, and Earth Cubes, we have started a Community Garden. The garden is located at Mary Ann Cafaro Park, which is at the corner of SE 56th Court and SE 107th Place in Belleview on an empty piece of property that the city has owned for several years. This is in the neighborhood near the American Legion building, two blocks from Lake Lillian. We currently have 32 beds for citizens to rent. Interested parties can rent a bed for $10.00 for the entire year. All soil, seeds, plants, and gardening tools will be provided to the participants. Every participant will be responsible for watering and caring for their piece of the garden. Replants take place quarterly on Saturdays, normally at 9:00 am. If you are interested in renting a garden box, please contact us at [email protected] or (352) 233 - 2122. Click here for the Community Garden Rules"
