Man Arrested for Burglary While Heading to Court on Prior Burglary Charge

Cape Coral Police arrested Devon Turner, 33, on June 8 after he attempted to break into a residential RV. Officers found Turner trying repeatedly to open the locked door of the RV around 8:30 a.m. After failing to enter, he disconnected the RV's power source.

When police arrived and questioned Turner, he said he was on his way to a court appearance and had been searching for clothing. He was wearing women's leggings and a tank top and carrying a small backpack.

Officers arrested Turner on suspicion of burglary of an occupied dwelling. During a search, they found approximately 2.9 grams of methamphetamine in his backpack. Turner faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and methamphetamine possession. Police transported him to Lee County Jail. His court date was scheduled for a prior burglary charge.
