Little Rock Police Nab 18-Year-Old in Southwest Robbery Spree
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock Police Department officers arrested Doriece Hill, 18, of Little Rock, Sunday evening after spotting him acting suspiciously while patrolling the southwest division, an area plagued by a recent surge in armed robberies. A handgun found in his possession prompted an interview that linked him to multiple heists, including a payday grab of at least $600 and subsequent strikes at Sonic, Little Caesars and Tobacco Superstore over a week and a half. Police say the robberies racked up thousands of dollars and two cell phones before the bust.
Hill faces a litany of charges: nine counts of aggravated robbery, nine counts of theft of property, criminal attempt to commit aggravated robbery, first-degree battery, carrying a weapon and a misdemeanor warrant. He was booked into the Pulaski County Detention Center by Monday, capping a swift response to community concerns in the bustling southwest corridor near major eateries and shops. One business owner, speaking anonymously, told KATV she could finally rest easy with the suspect off the streets.
The arrest underscores LRPD's push against rising violent crime in Little Rock's core neighborhoods, where armed robberies have spiked in recent weeks. While details on exact dates and victim businesses beyond the named chains remain limited, the case highlights vigilant policing and public tips as key to breaking the spree. Authorities continue investigating potential additional links as the city eyes safer streets.
