A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for parts of the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles until 11 AM CDT today, September 28, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Amarillo, TX issued the advisory at 6:42 AM CDT.
Residents in Beaver and Texas Counties in Oklahoma, and Hansford, Lipscomb, and Ochiltree Counties in Texas, should anticipate visibility of one-quarter mile or less due to dense fog. This significantly reduces visibility and can make driving conditions hazardous.
The NWS advises motorists to slow down, use headlights, and maintain a safe following distance if driving during this period.
