FWC to conduct a prescribed burn in the Charles H. Bronson Wildlife Management Area in Osceola County
FWC to conduct a prescribed burn in the Charles H. Bronson Wildlife Management Area in Osceola County The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Charles H. Bronson Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Osceola County. The prescribed burn will occur over multiple days between now and June 30. Prescribed burns are essential for managing habitats for wildlife. They reduce wildfire risk as well as improve the quality of native habitats. These burns mimic natural fire cycles, which promote new growth of grasses and other vegetation that benefit a wide variety of wildlife species. During prescribed burns, smoke may be visible in the vicinity of the WMA. Motorists and residents should exercise caution.
