Enterprising Latinas Announces New Board Leadership and Strategic Initiatives

Enterprising Latinas Announces New Board Leadership and Strategic Initiatives TAMPA, FL (May 15, 2024) – Enterprising Latinas is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Gutierrez as Board Chair. Ms. Gutierrez brings extensive experience in community development and financial management to the role. Enterprising Latinas also welcomes Ivette Maya Fernández and Maria D. Gonzalez as new board members. Ms. Fernández is a seasoned entrepreneur, and Ms. Gonzalez is a leader in the non-profit sector. These appointments reflect Enterprising Latinas’ commitment to strong governance and strategic leadership as the organization embarks on several strategic initiatives to promote economic empowerment for women in the Wimauma area. Ms. Gutierrez stated, “I am honored to serve as Board Chair and look forward to working with the board and staff to expand our reach and impact.” Enterprising Latinas’ strategic initiatives for 2024-2025 include: * Expanding access to capital for women-owned businesses through micro-lending and grant programs. * Developing new workforce development programs in high-demand industries such as healthcare and technology. * Strengthening partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to create a supportive ecosystem for Latina entrepreneurs. * Increasing advocacy efforts to address systemic barriers to economic opportunity. Elizabeth Gutierrez has over 15 years of experience in community development and financial management. She is a certified public accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Ivette Maya Fernández is a seasoned entrepreneur with a proven track record of success in the retail industry. She is the founder and CEO of a successful online retail business. Maria D. Gonzalez is a leader in the non-profit sector with over 20 years of experience in program development and fundraising. She is currently the Executive Director of a local community foundation focusing on education initiatives.
