Ukraine Reports Strike on Russian Satellite Center Amid Drone Attacks on Moscow
Ukraine's military conducted a strike on a Russian satellite communications center, a Ukrainian intelligence source stated Tuesday. The attack reportedly occurred near Alushta in Russian-occupied Crimea.
Simultaneously, more than 60 drones targeted Moscow overnight, according to city mayor Sergei Sobyanin. This constitutes a significant aerial attack on the Russian capital.
The Ukrainian intelligence source, who requested anonymity to discuss military operations, reported the strike inflicted damage on a central satellite communications hub used by Russia's forces. This facility operated as the main communications center for the Russian military in the region.
Russian air defense systems reportedly intercepted the drones approaching Moscow. Mayor Sobyanin did not provide details on potential damage or casualties resulting from the drone incursions.
Ukrainian officials indicated the strike on the satellite communications center represents part of a broader campaign. The ongoing campaign involves long-range weapons targeting distant Russian assets and infrastructure.
