Milton Wins Distinguished Budget Award
The Town of Milton has earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for its fiscal year budget. The award acknowledges Milton's budget as meeting nationally recognized guidelines across four key areas: serving as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
"This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Town's Budget Committee," said Scott Ostrander, Town Supervisor.
Dave Braymer, Town Comptroller, credited the recognition to the team's commitment to financial management. "This award reflects our team's commitment to financial condition management by way of implementing responsible and transparent budgeting practices," Braymer said. "I am thrilled for the Town Board and the Budget Committee."
The award evaluates how effectively a municipality presents its budget to demonstrate transparency and accountability in financial planning. Governmental entities must satisfy specific criteria established by the GFOA to qualify for the recognition.
Milton's Budget Committee prepared the award-winning budget document, which the Town Board approved for the current fiscal year.
