Residents should act now to complete preparations for hazardous wind, potential major flooding, and the possibility of several tornadoes. Wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 1-3 inches of rain expected, potentially leading to major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to do so could result in serious injury or loss of life. Rivers and small streams may overflow, and floodwaters could enter structures. Roads may become impassable.
The situation is also favorable for tornadoes, with a potential for several, some possibly intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings, and be prepared to shelter quickly. Tornadoes can cause significant damage, power loss, and communication failures, creating dangerous flying debris.
