Grand Boulevard Repaving Project Begins in Niskayuna

Schenectady County will begin road improvements on Grand Boulevard this week, resurfacing a 2,600-foot section between Keyes Avenue and Van Antwerp Road in Niskayuna.

Crews will mill and inlay the two-lane divided roadway to address surface damage and extend its lifespan. Work includes new pavement markings, ADA-compliant curb ramps, high-visibility crosswalks, and bicycle infrastructure. Each travel lane will measure 13 feet and accommodate both cars and bicycles, marked with sharrows. A 9-foot on-street parking lane will run alongside the driving lanes.

Motorists should expect delays and shifting traffic patterns. Drivers should plan extra travel time and watch for construction equipment and workers.
