Averill Park Jazz Ensemble Performs with Grammy Winner Jeff Coffin

The Averill Park High School Jazz Ensemble performed at the Shenendehowa Jazz Festival on Friday, April 24, working with Grammy-winning saxophonist Jeff Coffin and regional musicians Bob Halek and Tyler Giroux.

Coffin teaches at Vanderbilt University and has performed with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones and the Dave Matthews Band, which inducted him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has won three Grammy Awards.

Students participated in clinics and performed at the festival, now in its 22nd year. The event brings jazz artists to the Capital Region to work with high school musicians.
