Aaron Heffner Retires After 30 Years Leading Averill Park Facilities

Aaron Heffner retires at the end of June after nearly 30 years as Director of Facilities for Averill Park Central School District. He joined the district in June 1997.

Heffner maintained school facilities and grounds while managing complex operational challenges for the district. Superintendent Dr. James Franchini credited him for his dedication to the district.

"The relationships I built with coworkers mattered most, along with our shared commitment to supporting students and staff," Heffner said. He highlighted the district's Captain Kilowatt energy conservation program, which he championed.

Heffner plans to travel with his wife of 40 years, visiting family across the country and exploring national parks.
