Aventura PD Launches Teen Explorer Program for Law Enforcement

The Aventura Police Department has launched a Police Explorer Program for local residents ages 14 to 19 interested in law enforcement careers. The program aims to provide hands-on experience and develop leadership skills.

Explorers will learn about daily police procedures and specialized investigations within a structured environment. The program seeks to promote teamwork and service within the community.

Eligibility requires good moral character, a commitment to attending meetings, and a minimum 2.5 GPA. A background check is mandatory. Priority will be given to Aventura residents who attend a local school.

Participants will gain practical insights by working alongside experienced officers and exploring different departmental units. The program offers a realistic understanding of law enforcement and public service.
