Aventura Launches E-Permits for Faster Applications

Aventura residents and contractors can now submit permit applications, corrections, and revisions online through the city's new e-permits system. The digital platform aims to make managing building permits more efficient.

Before applying, users should read the city's step-by-step instructions. The system uses an applicant's email address to send application status updates.

For new permit applications, the email subject line must include the property's folio number. This information is available on the warranty deed or through the Miami-Dade Property Appraiser website.

For corrections or revisions to existing permits, the subject line must state “Correction” or “Revision,” followed by the property’s folio number and the relevant permit number. The city requires all trade corrections to be submitted together with a narrative or response letter. Incomplete submissions will be held until all necessary documents are received.

In the message section of the email, applicants must state the address of the proposed work location and confirm the submission type: new permit, correction, or revision.

Applicants can upload required documentation in one to five batches by dragging files into the designated box or using the “+ Add Files” option. This includes a completed, signed, and notarized Building Permit Application in PDF format. Plans must be unlocked to prevent review delays.

After clicking “send,” the Building Division E-Permits team will respond within two business days. The response will either confirm acceptance for review or request additional items. Applicants should read these emails carefully to avoid delays.
