Aventura City Commissioners will attend mandatory ethics training sessions on two upcoming dates. State statute requires the training, which will occur immediately after the regular City Commission Workshop meetings.
The first session is scheduled for October 15, 2026, following the 9 a.m. workshop. A second session will take place on November 19, 2026, also after the morning workshop. These sessions fulfill the requirements of Chapter 112.3142, Florida Statutes, which mandates ethics training for public officials.
All seven City Commissioners are expected to attend: Mayor Howard S. Weinberg, Commissioner Clifford B. Ain, Commissioner Gustavo Blachman, Commissioner Amit Bloom, Commissioner Rachel S. Friedland, Commissioner Paul A. Kruss, and Commissioner Cindy Orlinsky. The training will be held in the 5th Floor Executive Conference Room at the Aventura Government Center, 19200 W. Country Club Drive.
The sessions are open to the public, with notice provided in accordance with Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes. Members of the city's Advisory Boards may also attend. Residents requiring special accommodations for disabilities should contact the City Clerk's office at 305-466-8901 or [email protected] at least two days prior to each session.
