Trump Announces Overseas Manufacturing for Patriot Missile Systems

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump announced the United States will permit the manufacturing of its Patriot air defense systems in other countries. The decision allows for the production of these systems outside the U.S. for use by Ukraine.

Trump made the statement during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He indicated this measure aims to strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend against ongoing Russian missile attacks.

The Patriot system represents a mobile, surface-to-air missile system. The U.S. Army and several allied nations currently operate the system. It primarily intercepts tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft.
