Burke County Switches From CodeRED After Cyber Attack

Burke County Switches Emergency Notification System After CodeRED Cyber Attack

Burke County decommissioned its OnSolve CodeRED emergency notification system following a cyber attack and is migrating to Crisis24, the Burke County Emergency Management Agency said.

CodeRED served as the county's backup alert method for emergencies at Plant Vogtle and other incidents requiring mass notification. The primary Emergency Alert System remains operational.

Until the Crisis24 migration completes, Burke County EMA will use social media and local media outlets to distribute emergency information. Residents should monitor NOAA Weather Radios and the National Weather Service at weather.gov/cae for weather alerts.
