Winter Haven Man Arrested Driving 100 mph With Revoked License
A Polk County Sheriff's deputy clocked Joseph Olivera, 49, driving 100 mph in a 60 mph zone on U.S. Highway 27 near Lake Wales on June 11. Olivera weaved aggressively through three lanes of traffic, forcing other motorists to brake and swerve.
Olivera faces felony charges of DUI third offense or subsequent and driving while license suspended or revoked as a habitual offender. His license has been revoked since 2022. He carries 13 active suspensions stemming from DUI convictions, refusal to submit to breath tests, failure to pay citations, failure to appear for court summons, and failure to pay child support.
Deputies found several open alcohol containers in his 2025 BMW sedan. Olivera refused to provide a breath sample and faces misdemeanor charges of refusal to submit a breath sample and dangerous excessive speeding.
"If you see him behind the wheel of a vehicle, please dial 911 so we can get him off the road as quickly as possible," Sheriff Grady Judd said.
