Winter Haven Man Arrested for Using Fake Police Lights to Pull Over Drivers

A 20-year-old Winter Haven man faces a felony charge after admitting he used red and blue emergency lights to pull over other drivers on Polk County roads.

Misael Guerrero-Ramirez told a deputy he activates LED lights mounted on his truck's windshield when drivers brake-check him, forcing other vehicles out of his way. A 911 caller reported being pulled over by a Chevy truck with emergency lights flashing on June 9. A deputy stopped Guerrero-Ramirez that day on Bomber Road in Wahneta.

Guerrero-Ramirez faces a third-degree felony charge of impersonating a law enforcement officer. Florida law classifies the offense as a felony when someone falsely assumes law enforcement authority and acts under its pretense. He was booked into the Polk County Sheriff's Processing Center.
