Users can pinpoint issue locations using GPS, attach photos, and receive automatic status updates. JaxReady App: Brought by the Emergency Preparedness Division and Information Technologies Division. Helps monitor weather threats and evacuation plans during natural disasters. Provides access to current threat levels, weather reports, and up-to-the-minute news feeds. Jacksonville Waste and Recycling App: Provides customized collection calendars for trash, recycling, and green waste pickup, plus holiday scheduling. Includes a "Wizard" section to determine proper waste sorting and free reminder sign-ups. JaxLibrary App: Allows access to the Jacksonville Public Library catalog anytime, anywhere. Library card holders can locate books, movies, music and more with mobile-optimized search features. ParkMobile App: Simplifies Downtown Jacksonville parking. Users can find and pay for parking from their phone without touching the meter, monitor sessions, extend time remotely, save favorites, and manage up to 5 vehicles. MAYOR DONNA DEEGAN'S PRIORITIES: - Public Safety - Infrastructure & Public Works - Affordable Housing & Homelessness - Health & Wellness - Economic Development & Jobs - Youth, Literacy & Education - Military and Veterans Affairs - Arts, Culture, and Entertainment DUVAL COUNTY BURN BAN LIFTED: The Duval County burn ban has been lifted. Under Jacksonville Municipal Code Section 420.201, all outdoor open burning in Duval County is prohibited year-round without a permit, including on residential properties. Burning household waste, yard waste, or construction materials is illegal. The only allowable burning is land-clearing debris from the initial clearing of vegetation on commercial properties, and it requires an open-burning permit. For permit information, contact the Environmental Quality Division at (904) 255-7100. CITY COUNCIL: The Jacksonville City Council is composed of nineteen members who are elected for a four-year term and serve as part-time legislators. In May of each year, the Council elects a President and Vice President to serve one-year terms beginning the first of July. The nineteen members are elected through a combination of district and at-large methods. The City Council is the legislative body of the City of Jacksonville's consolidated government and is responsible for making the laws that govern the city. The city is divided into 14 districts of nearly equal population, each electing a single council member. The other five council members represent the entire community at-large.
