Marlins Hand Braves 5-3 Loss at LoanDepot Park with Late-Game Rally

The Miami Marlins defeated the Atlanta Braves 5-3 on Sunday at LoanDepot Park.

The Marlins secured the win with a four-run surge across the sixth and seventh innings. After trailing 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth, the Marlins tied the game, then broke it open with three runs in the sixth and an additional run in the seventh, establishing a 5-1 lead. The Braves attempted a comeback with two runs in the seventh but ultimately fell short.

Heriberto Hernández contributed significantly for the Marlins, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Jared Serna went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two RBI. Mauricio Dubón also hit a home run, driving in two runs and scoring once. Michael Petersen earned the win, while Sandy Alcantara recorded the save. JR Ritchie was tagged with the loss for the Braves.

This game marked the second meeting between these two teams in as many days. The Braves won the previous contest 8-3. The all-time series now stands at 1-1.
